You may clean up other week’s mess. Or not. Better clean some of the mess. You may not be able to get out the front door. But after that, you can flip or scroll through Interweave’s Unofficial Downton Abbey Knits collection. If you watched the series (you know you did), this is a fun collection. I have a memory of attempting knitting gloves that turned out uneven with gaps, ladders and lumps. The New Year tempts me with the fantasy that l can turn out a pair of silk lace gown gloves. Just as the New Year lies to.me and whispers, “You can knit that Brocade Vest.” I’m sure the whispering will stop when New Year fantasy fades and l realize that it’s still the same me. For now,in the quiet, l’ll dream l can knit gloves of perfection.
