God Blessed us with rain. Lots of it. As we sat huddled in cars and trucks, the lightning struck all around us, sometimes so closely, you could smell the ozone. When it finally let up enough to start the Burn, the gas wand I had bought to start the Fire wouldn’t ignite. Frustrated, I started a search for matches and came up empty. I walked back to the parking area to climb into my car to go buy another wand when I heard a noise I’d never heard before. On opening the pump house, I saw that the pump housing had cracked and was spraying the house and the electrical connections with water. We safely shut down the system. My husband asked, ” Do you know how lucky we were? If we’d started the Fire, we would have had no water to control it.”
I’d like to thank everyone who helped with the Burn and everyone who came. I’d like to especially thank the Big Man in the Sky who gave me what I needed and not what I wanted.
