I ran out of medium to increase fluidity to some paint years ago. I headed to the kitchen to see what I could rustle up. Deciding against corn oil as to sticky and olive oil as too smelly, I saw some grapeseed oil that I had bought for a special dressing. Extremely thin and fine with almost no scent, I decided to use it, shivering a little at the price I had paid. The drive to paint can involve lapses in judgement and even conscience.
Huzzah! It worked great, better than great! If you are looking for a medium that will add luster while being able to thin pigments out to stained glass perfection, grapeseed oil is the bomb. Again, it is pricey and it doesn’t last forever, so buy the smallest bottle you can and store in a cool dark place. Have fun today!
