I keep my paintings vertically stacked in a spare room. Like everyone else, this summer has been exceptionally hot. Even though the paintings were stacked behind a shut door, safely air conditioned, a family member decided to move the paintings into the un-airconditioned basement. The varnish and paint softened in the heat and became attached to the dust covers I’d placed over each painting. It’s so bad, I can’t even look at it now to access the damage. Eventually, it will have to be faced. I can’t imagine going into some one’s office or studio and destroying work. I still don’t understand why this happened at all.
