Mop Brush 2

Well I’ll be. Dish soap. Not Dawn. Just store brand dish soap. For those of you who don’t follow the blog, I’ve been trying to restore my mop brush to it’s original fluffiness. Repeated soakings in mineral spirits were not working. There remained a residual gummyness. The final solution was to heat 1/4  cup of dish soap and 1 cup of water in the microwave for 5 minutes and soak the  brush in the solution. I didn’t hold out much hope for it, so I let it soak overnight, but it may not have to soak that long. All the residue was gone and now the brush is drying by the sink. Gently tap the brush as it dries to maintain the original shape.
